Sadqay tumhare

      I have started this project because I wanted my friends who can’t understand Urdu to be able to watch Sadqay Tumhare along me. That’s why, I will try to add some cultural informations in “cultural insight” so that people who are not Pakistani or Punjabi can understand all the cultural refrences in the drama. I’ll usually update on week-ends : )

About the drama

Written by Khalil Ur Rehman Qamar and directed by Ehteshamuddin, Sadqay tumhare is a Pakistani 2014-drama serial that airs on Hum Tv every Friday.

Main cast : Mahira Khan, Adnan Malik, Samiya Mumtaz, Saniya Shamshad, Arisha Razi, Sara Razi.

Synopsis :

Set in the 70s, the serial follows the story of a girl named Shanno (Mahira khan) who is blindly in love with her fiance Halil (Adnan Malik) but they haven’t seen each other for 10 years. At first, Halil who lives in the city of Lahore, isn’t very happy to be engaged to a village girl. However, once the two meet at a family wedding, Halil can’t help falling in love. Unfortunately, not everyone is pleased with their commitment…

 

  For any drama, the script plays an important role in its sucess or failure. Pakistan has been very fortunate to have produced a large number of great drama writers and Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar is one of them.

  His dramas are appreciated because of his very unique style of writing. His characters seem to be living in another world, a world where true love can be found.

  Rahat Fateh Ali Khan is a Pakistani singer known for his Qawwali (a devotional music of the Muslim Sufis). He is the nephew of Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and son of Ustad Farrukh Fateh Ali Khan. In addition to Qawwali, he has also sung ghazals (classical music) and pop songs. He is well known as a palyback singer for Bollywood and Lollywood (pakistani cinema, cf DesiNama’s june-2014-edition).
